- Dolmen represents the passing from the old world/life to the new
- Replica of the Poulnabrone Dolmen (located in County Clare
c.4200-2900 BC)
- Inner circle of 12-6 ft high standing stones engraved with the history of - "An
Gorta Mor-the Great Hunger"
- Outer circle of 32-3 ft stones engraved with each Irish County and
details of the famine affect on each county
- Paving stone paths with engraved names of interested people and
families
- Area surrounded by dry stone "slave wall" - (associated
with central Kentucky-brought here by Irish immigrants)

The monument has been designed and will be
constructed by Francis McCormack, owner of

Irish
Natural Stone Products Ltd. of County Clare, Ireland. All of the
stone will be Irish limestone from
|
|
County Clare except the County stones - Each
county stone will be stone from the county it represents.

The surrounding drystone wall will be made
from Kentucky limestone.
